The house that is now the Decanter Inn on Wine Street was
acquired by the Bergstrom Family in March of 2005.
The Bergstroms, originally from Boston, lived in Southwest
Florida along with their two children, Madison (age 13) and
Cairan (age 11). Victims of the hurricanes in 2004, the Bergstrom
family was ready for a change. Desiring a warm climate, mixed
with a change of seasons, South Carolina with it's rich history,
strong family values and wonderful old homes, was a perfect fit.
The Bergstroms bring over twenty years of Travel and Tourism
experience to the Inn. David, the Executive Chef of the Inn, has a
Culinary Arts Degree and was a product development consultant
for several major airlines and hotel chains. Lisa, has a degree in
Travel and Tourism and an extensive background in sales and
marketing and property management.
The Bergstroms are not your typical Inn Keepers though. While
most people wait until later in life to enter this profession, The
Bergstrom family, together, have taken on the task of providing
the very finest "Inn" experience possible.
While David will tempt your palate and Lisa will ensure that you
are comfortable and feel at home, the occasional encounter with
the children will remind you of family.
